A Representative of MGERB participated in the discussion “Bulgaria after the elections”
26/07/09
On the 22nd of July in Grand Hotel “Sofia” a discussion “Bulgaria after the elections” took place, which coincided with the annual scholarship awards of “Konrad Adenauer” foundation. The discussion was opened by Andreas von Beloff – the director of the “Konrad Adenauer” bureau in Sofia, who cordially greeted and welcomed the scholars of the foundation.
Tanya Tsvetkova – representative of MGERB Sofia – took part in the discussion. She took the opportunity to express her gratitude towards “Konrad Adenauer” foundation for its overall beneficial contribution and constant support. The importance of the last parliamentary elections was pointed out as well as the high turn out and the substantial number of young people who become members of the 41st parliament (from PP GERB 21 of them are below 35). The three main priorities of The Young Citizens for European Development of Bulgaria were mentioned namely – the preparation of cadres (the summer university and the two consecutive political academies of MGERB were mentioned), the conduction of civil initiatives on national and regional level as well as active international activity (the acceptation of MGERB as a full member of EDS, and joining the YEPP family – the two youth organizations of the European People’s Party).
At the end of the meeting an opportunity was given to the scholars to raise questions and proposals about the activity of the young people in politics.
On its part the directory of the foundation’s bureau in Sofia greeted MGERB for its good election results and expressed its readiness to aid the development of MGERB and the Bulgarian civil society in future.
