MGERB’s chairwoman participated in SGERB’s Winter University in Veliko Tarnovo

The first political winter university of SGERB took place on 19th and 20th February in Interhotel Veliko Tarnovo.

There, together with the rest of the lecturers, MGERB’s chairwoman - Monika Panayotova talked about successful policy- dialogue between generations, effective communication and values. She also emphasized the role of the GERB’s youth organization, of which capable and active young people are members and introduced the participants to their activities.

Apart from the panel devoted to the youth organization, during the forum the political situation in the country was discussed, as well as election systems, basic right principles, GERB’s health program, measures for counteractions against the crisis and the social and educational policies of the party. Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov, chairman of PP GERB was an official guest to the forum.

MGERB has Participated in the Winter University of EDS in Bucharest, Romania

From 17th to 22nd of February 2009 in Bucharest representatives of MGERB were part of the winter university of the European Democrat Students (EDS) – the largest student political organization in Europe. The delegates of MGERB Kalin Zahariev, member of NIS MGERB, Antonia Velichkova, member of MGERB Stara Zagora and Toma Tomov, member of MGERB Pleven, participated as observers.

During their five day visit they have met ministers from the Romanian government, the Austrian ambassador in Romania, the representative of Konrad Adenauer foundation Romania and Romanian Eurodeputies.


In the work sessions of European Democrat Students proposals for positions on important European issues were made – Croatian EU Accession, the Energy Crisis, the EU's relations with Russia and others. Those proposals were accepted in the last day of the winter university during the EDS Council conference.

Dear friends,

Happy Birthday to MGERB. We are happy that together our team has grown stronger, more flexible and younger. You are the new face of the party. With you GERB has enriched its cadres’ potential. That is why we rely for you to enter the next government getting new faces and spirit into the politics.

Over the last year we continued to believe in you and you have justified our faith. Your initiatives, campaigns and ideas have inspired energy and elan into the party activities.

MGERB is the way together to try to overcome the political apathy amongst the young people in Bulgaria. Be bold and active, believe in yourself and work with pleasure. Be constant and believe in your principles, continue to dream because that is the only way we will succeed! One day we and our colleagues will retire and you will be the ones to carry on the way of GERB. You will be those who will be writing the history of the state and the party. That is why I advise you – Write it “literate” and “responsible”. Work to make PP GERB live decades ahead.

MGERB organized regional training in campaign management

On 14 and 15 of February in Goce Delchev members of MGERB from regional structures in Blagoevgrad, Sofia and Vraca carried out a traning in campaign management which took place in the hotel Nevrokop, Goce Delchev.

Presentatives, 40 of a number, were training two days campaign management, retorics, etiquette and protocol . Lectures were carried out by Kalin Zahariev - member of NIS of MGERB – and Milen Nikolov – regional manager of MGERB for Kustendil. Special guest and lecturer was prof. Nikolai Andreev – chairmen of SGERB.

The event was organized by Georgi Andonov and Georgi Gulev together with Kalin Kamenov – regional manager of Blagoevgrad – and Kalin Zahariev. They prepared many simulative games for “breaking the ice” between the members of different regional structures of MGERB. Also the local historical museum was visited be all the participants. Local elections in the villages Mysomishta and Skrebatno were fine chances for getting in line about the forthcoming parliamentary elections.


The training was successful, which makes us optimistic for the forthcoming new regional trainings around structures of MGERB in the country.

Flowers and high spirit were given to the citizens of Plovdiv by MGERB

The cold winter didn’t prevent the members of MGERB – Plovdiv and the participants in the Political academy from cheering up the people from Plovdiv at lunch time today. The young people gave more than 1000 flowers to the pedestrians on the main street because of St. Valentine’s Day. ‘Let love be everyday in our life, because then everyday will be a holiday’ – this were the wishes of the participants in the ‘colorful action’ to the citizens. The smiles and the high spirit which we created to the people on today St Valentine was the biggest pleasure for us, they shared. ‘In our busy everyday life we shouldn’t forget the European values. Our message is that love should always exist in our relations – love toward parents, love toward friends, love toward children and love toward old people’, this was said by the Chairwoman of MGERB Monika Panayotova who also took part in the initiative in Plovdiv.

The Second Political Academy of MGERB has begun

The second Political Academy of MGERB has begun in the city of Plovdiv. The participating 50 youths were selected during several stages (autobiography selection, tests, debating skills and essay). The organizers were most pleased by the participation of bulgarian students who returned from abroad specially for the case wishing to achieve realization in Bulgaria. The academy is being conducted with the kind help of “Konrad Adenauer” foundation.

The academy was officially opened by the chairman of PP GERB Mr. Tsvetan Tsvetanov: “We must preserve the spirit of youth because without the energy of the young people we cannot realize our ideas. I am glad that since the establishment of MGERB the organization is very active because our message could not reach the youth except trough you. Bulgaria needs you, Bulgaria needs you to stay here if we are to live without nostalgia for those who leave the motherland. Work for the positive messages and the positive in our life. Be united and work in team because this is the path to success.” Wished Tsvetanov.

The chairwoman of MGERB Monika Panayotova passed the secret of eternal youth which by her words was to learn a new thing every day. Training of specialists is one of the tree priorities of MGERB along with Citizen Initiative and International cooperation. This academy is exactly the proof that MGERB is working actively in this direction.

According to Ivan Totev, host and regional leader of PP GERB - Plovdiv, the organization of MGERB in the city is very active and its initiatives are most memorable and creative. That is why he called for the development of this creativity and expressed confidence in the positive results to come.

The hosts from Plovdiv gave badges of GERB to the participants and Monica Panayotova wished they carry them with a will and identifying with the GERB project.

On Saturday the fourteenth of February the youths of GERB will surprise the citizens of Plovdiv by giving them Gerberas on Saint Valentine’s day. The initiative is connected with the values we share – love to family, love to friends, love to children, love to old people. “Let love be everyday” wished Monika Panayotova. The flower action starts on Saturday on 12.30 in front of “Balkan” cinema at the centre of Plovdiv explained Rozalia Mitseva, regional coordinator of MGERB – Plovdiv.

MGERB is handing out the "European Diary" in Bulgaria.

In the last month the youth structures of PP GERB in Sofia, Smolqn, Stara Zagora and Burgas were teaching students from 10 and 11 grade about the European Union - their rights as eropean citizens and specifically - their consumer rights .

The European Diary is translated in 27 languages, for all countries members of the EU and it's handing out freely to students in upper classes in whole Europe. The initiative for it's extra distribution in Bulgaria belongs to the european deputies of PP GERB - Nikolai Mladenov and Vladimir Uruchev. Yet again their was the iniciative in witch in the months of September and October, young members of MGERB from the country made akcnowledged with the helping appliance in special trainings in Ruse and Brussels.



The hour for "Knowing our rights as european citizens" is going pretty well among students from all Bulgaria. In this one hour the young members of MGERB are trying to make a representation of the European Diary, explaining the conception of the EU, it's institutions, the mechanics of taking decisions and our human, social and consumer rights.

In the end, the students have the chance to ask questions about the European Diary and it's content, and the members of MGERB are trying to do their best to answer them.


On the whole the meetings with the upper classes about the Diary are provoking no small interest about the EU and Bulgaria as a member of the union. Still there are more "teaching hours" about the EU that are to be made, and every student will get the chance to obtain a European Diary.
