The youth organization of GERB held a three-day seminar in Pamporovo
30/03/09
The political academy was held with the kind hosting of the Olympic biathlon champion Katya Dafovska on 27th – 30th march 2009.
The meeting of the youth organization was attended by Tsvetan Tsvetanov – Chairman of PP GERB, Rumyana Jeleva – Chairwoman of the Bulgarian delegation in the EPP-ED parliamentary group, Monika Panayotova – Chairwoman of MGERB, Vladislav Goranov – economic expert of PP GERB, Bogdan Mirchev – representative of ‘Hanns Seidel’ Foundation for Bulgaria, Valentin Gadzhev – member of the Executive commission of PP GERB, Nickolay Melemov – regional coordinator of PP GERB – Smolyan, Nickolay Boyadzhiev – Mayor of Rudozem. The main topic of the forum was ‘Challenges in front of the right-wing before the General and European parliament elections’. The main goal of the seminar was for the young people to be able to explain clearly and correctly the difference between right and left policy, what kind of change in the government wanted the members of GERB and to convince people to vote.
The chairman of PP GERB Tsvetan Tsvetanov welcomed the idea of organizing such kind of training seminars and reminded that in the district of Smolyan in the last elections, they had succeeded in winning three municipalities, in which the BSP and MRF had been leading parties. He also reminded how difficult had been the battle for Rudozem municipality. ‘Except for Rudozem we also have mayors in Zlatograd and in Momchilovtsi village, where Mrs. Dora Yankova was born, which shows that in the Smolyan district GERB will win in the next elections’, Tsvetanov said. He praised the local organization and the regional coordinator Nickolay Melemov and the MEP Vladimir Urutchev and added that GERB had nothing common with the Mayor of Smolyan Dora Yankova, although she had attended a meeting of the councilors of GERB with people. ‘With her presence she wants to show some kind of civil activity, which does not fit with her actions here’, said the Chairman of the party. He added that many young people were members of the party in the whole country, because in the last years the young people had been abstained of voting. ‘We want by you, members of MGERB, to convince young people to vote, that’s the only way to reach the change’, Tsvetanov also said.
‘The PP GERB will participate on its own in the next elections, in order to bear the political responsibility. These will be the most difficult elections and campaign, but that will be the sweetest victory for party GERB in reaching its goals.’ This was said by the Chairman of PP GERB Tsvetan Tsvetanov on the meeting of the youth organization of GERB in Pamporovo. He specified that society does not want this government to continue. According to his words there is a good representation in the whole country and we could answer to the expectations of the people for real change.
Tsvetanov also commented the public debate between Boyko Borisov and Sergei Stanishev. ‘Borisov gave a clear sign for tolerance and good behaviour. But the good atmosphere was obscured only after 24 hours, because BSP has only one alternative, to live in their imaginary world that they’re the best in the country. The good is that the people take the decision. Stanishev estimates his work in one way, but the society in a different one. In their whole government there isn’t a transparency’, also said the Chairman of the party. Tsvetanov expressed his opinion about the information in the media about Toshko Todorov.
‘A man who has passed 15 years in the Territorial tax department, 8 years director; the state has invested in him, but the state did not hesitate to blacken and to make it out to be the biggest problem of the state, one expert, one man who the state has turned into an extremely good administrator. You see what is the valuation and the attack that aims only to put the negative on the daily agenda and to draw the people’s attention from the real problems’, concluded Tsvetanov.
On 28th March 2009 /Saturday/ the youth from PP GERB from the whole country held a civil initiative in the centre of Smolyan on the topic ‘Vote, to be heard’.

Borisov appealed to the youth from the political academy – “ Don’t act like Stanishev”
16/03/09
“That’s the answer of Martin Dimitrov – a friend of mine, that they have experts but we don’t – you are my answer” – with these words Boyko Borisov accosted to the participants in the Second Political youth Academy, who finished successfully their training. The leader of PP GERB visited Plovdiv to greet personally the young people and to bestow the certificates.
“The reforms are easy to be written in a book, but the reforms are like “flesh cutting” – terminating concessions, 20 years old schemes for stealing, especially in the energetic. This job takes courage. After we took this courage to do it, I’m convinced the other mayors will do it, as well” – Boyko Borisov said to the participants in the Academy and continued:
In the view of the fact that it is a political academy I’m telling you how you shouldn’t act – You shouldn’t act in the way Stanishev does. When someone has taken the courage, stand behind him. It doesn’t matter that he is from another party. People expect from us the following: for the good – you say something good, if it’s bad – criticize. You should never gloss over when you get wrong. You better confess – I was in the wrong here, I got misled and my motives were those ones, I was considering in that way, that’s why I was wrong. Don’t act like Stanishev, for example” – the leader of PP GERB advised the young active members of the party and gave an example. “Don’t act like this - everybody knows that world is in a recession, in a world economic crisis but you say there won’t be a crisis in Bulgaria, and in few months later you say you have already prognosticated the crisis long before it has sprang up and you have prepared measures.
Obama, Sarkozy and Merkel have no decision and they are in a panic how to get it over, the world is in a panic, billions of dollars are being driven into the economics but nothing helps. The reason is that there is no money. For each 100 dollars, for example, if you need cash, you can take only 1 dollar cash. Money is gone. It’s all because of the speculative deals that have happened. Physically we need years to print the money because the amount is about 50 thousands of billions which is not in a circulation. Five months ago Stanishev appeared and said the crisis is not a problem, we are ready for it. So they had prepared measures. I don’t know what kind of measure they have prepared different from those the other countries have done and we see that there is no country in the world where the crisis measures to show effect. That’s the panic that possessed the world. That’s why there are meetings of the European leaders every week. Nobody can guarantee that the crisis won’t continue 3-4 years and its eventual direction in future. When you are in a common situation and you get wrong, show up and say – yes, there is a crisis, there is a problem. These are the objective factors and we’ll try to put this crisis to an end using these measures. At least the people to be less affected and if there was a constructive opposition, they would say – yes, we are not going to come down on the premier for these objects because he is right” – Boyko Borisov said and added: “How could you stay noiseless – 10 days they were hiding from the people that 1 milliard and 300 million dollars are blocked for the water- supply and the sewage of Bulgaria, only because this triple coalition hasn’t done the laws according the European requirements. So, you lose milliards irrevocably, milliards are blocked but you show up with your all impudence and say - I have to be a premier because I’m going to lead. Who are you going to lead? Because of you every kind of financing is stopped.
You are young people. If your mother and father say you are not able to do anything, we’re not going to support you money – do whatever you want. As you are a hooligan, as you steal – we’re not going to give you money. This is the thing you would never do. Stay away of it.” – Boyko Borisov advised the young people and they were applauding him during all the time in a full force.
On behalf of the participants in the Secon Political Youth Academy of PP GERB the chairwoman of MGERB Monika Panayotova gave to the leader of PP GERB Boyko Borisov a football with autographs of the youth. “I have prepared a ball because we are a strong team and our wish is: Let’s be the best team for 2009”- Monika Panayotova said. Expressing gratitude to their host – the regional chairman of PP GERB in Plovdiv – Ivan Totev, they gave him a styling fountain-pen that he can use for signing the important documents.
Boyko Borisov had a meeting with young people from southwestern Bulgaria in Pernik
06/03/09
The leader of GERB was welcomed with big interest in the overcrowded hall in the Palace of culture in Pernik, where he had a meeting with young people from Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Sofia and Stara Zagora on the initiative of the youth organization of GERB. There was launched a campaign of MGERB called ‘Vote, to be heard’. The meeting was also attended by the Chairman of PP GERB – Tsvetan Tsvetanov, the secretary of PP GERB – Krasimir Veltchev, the chairwoman of MGERB – Monika Panayotova, members of the NEC of MGERB, as well as regional coordinators of MGERB.
The participants were welcomed by the regional coordinator of PP GERB – Pernik. He expressed his satisfaction at the fact that the young people from the region were active citizens. Then he asked Monika Panayotova to present the initiative of MGERB ‘Vote, to be heard’ and the clip, especially prepared for this purpose. The main message of the campaign is for the young people to be active in standing up their grounds. She also presented the work of MGERB till the moment. Miss Panayotova said that the most important was for the young people to realize their personal responsibility for the current situation and their future. She also highlighted that voting today, people would determine their tomorrow.
The Chairman of PP GERB Tsvetan Tsvetanov explained to the participants the policy of the party concerning the role of the young people in the political life. According to him since the establishment of MGERB, the youth organization had proved to be one of the most active in the party and had a full support from the executive body. Tsvetanov shared that the young people should vote actively in the country. ‘It’s important to be positive in the next several months till the elections and to think about the future. I want for you to stay in Bulgaria – you and my children’, appealed the Chairman of PP GERB.
‘GERB put under equal conditions everyone in the party, regardless of age and ethnical characteristics. Everyone in GERB should have equal opportunities. The criteria are knowledge and abilities, that include young and old people from each ethnics’, Boyko Borisov said. The first and most important task for each government should be the suspension of the thefts and impunity’, added the leader of GERB.
The meeting with the leaders of GERB was informal with laughter and jokes. In spite of this there was a serious element, in which many problems were emphasized – at natonal and regional level. The young people from Pernik asked their questions to the executive body and didn’t hide their satisfaction of the correct and honest answers, which they received. ‘The future is ours but we should gain it. You have your party and you should make it such one that after 20 years to be still in the party and not to be ashamed of that fact. And me, you can put me in a portrait’, Borisov joked.
The unabating interest and spontaneous dialogue prolonged the meeting with hours and by the proposition of the young people, it was not closed. ‘This is not our last meeting and I’ll be here again to continue our talks…’, Borisov said.
